DAMMAM, 12 February 2003 — Winners of the Philippine School in Dammam’s “Search” have been crowned, with Mark Joseph A. Cates as “King” and Ria Karla I. Arana as “Queen.”
Runners-up were Mark Czar Paulo C. Castano and Ma. Erika V. Arenos, who were named “Duke and Duchess,” respectively.
Dann Genesis T. Guerrero and Ma. Dianne O. Alarca won the title “Marquis and the Marquise.”
The contestants were all high school students.
In the elementary school level, Vincent Isaac R. Condat, a Grade 4 pupil, was named “Prince,” and Grade 1 pupil Dianne J. Cunanan “Princess.”
The first runners-up were Arvy V. Llena and Karl Kevin J. Casenas, while Jamila Anne V. Salvador and Ismael Omar Y. Arcay won the second runners-up awards.
Launched late last year, the “Search” was a project of PSD’s Student Council Organization (SCO) to raise funds for the refurbishment of the school’s sports facilities and for a donation to the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).
The SCO’s officers this year are Emarc Perri Magtanong, president; Issa Paulino, vice president; with Daphne Austria, Ramon Jeriel Sawit, Kristofer Vincent Herrera, Judith Paulino, Ma. Enrily Magtanong, Angelique Aquino, James Manalo, Ma. Josephine Quimpo, Anne Bernadette Indefonso, governors; Kimverly Molina and Veronica Tupaz as senators.
Its mayors are Khristine Yabut and Abbey Krystle Claudio and the advisers are Judy Paulino and Analiza Catanus.
Gracing the coronation night held at the Gulf Pearl Compound in Alkhobar were Assistant Labor Attaché Jalilo dela Torre and Supervising Welfare Officer Sotero Tornea.
Also present were school principal Lita Rulloda, teachers and board members of PSD, and the officers of the Parent Teacher Association Council (PTAC).
Hannah Gelsana, first runner-up for the school-year 2000-2001, made her farewell walk and turned over the crown to the “Queen and Princess” for this academic year.
