AL-AHSA, 15 February 2003 — A bride survived a fire when she was about to enter a wedding ceremony in Hofuf city, Al-Jazirah newspaper reported yesterday.
The bride’s younger brother was playing with fire crackers in a show of enthusiasm when one of them landed on the woman’s wedding dress, setting it on fire. The fire was put out and the ceremony continued, the paper said.
