JEDDAH, 17 February 2003 — Al-Ahli defeated Al-Ittifaq 2-1 in the King Fahd Cup soccer tournament last night.
The local outfit took the lead in the 23rd minute when Ali Al-Abdali sent the ball in to the left of the goalkeeper.
Al-Ittifaq drew level in the 39th minute when Bander Al-Dosari found the mark from a free kick.
Veteran international star Hussain Abdul Ghani settled the issue in favor of Ahli by scoring off a free kick from far out as he made the ball dip into the goal.
