JEDDAH, 21 February 2003 — Sharbatly defeated Zuhair Fayez 70-69 in the 10th ALJ Presidents Cup 2003 Invitational Basketball Tournament held in Al Safa District. The game was decided in the dying moments when Remegio converted free throws. Tacoboy topscored with 19 points for Sharbatly while Tiu scored 15 points for Zuhair Fayez.
In the next game, ALJ Hospital bounced back and beat CSOC 71-64 — their first win in three outings. Leal are top scorer with 29 points for ALJ Hospital while Matias scored 22 points for CSOC.
In the final game, Masa Pest Control won against AKA-PPG 68-64. With two minutes remaining in the final canto, Masa Pest Control kept pressure and controlled the defensive boards. Talastas topscored with 22 points for Masa Pest Control while Cahuyong scored 22 points for AKA-PPG.
In Friday’s game, PCC Denso beat Kilo5 78-51.
PCC Denso caught Kilo5 flat-footed even with Gadingan in their lineup. PCC Denso displayed consistency in their shooting while K5 tried hard to reduce the lead. Villegas and Delgado scored 19 point apiece for PCC Denso while Gadingan topscored with 29 points for Kilo5.
In the next game, Zahid Tractor defeated Saudi Diyar 88-76. Zahid Tractor applied low post offense with veteran Esguerra dominating the shaded area. Saudi Diyar tried the run and gun offense but missed a lot of points in their transition offense. Qiuozon topscored with 29 points for Zahid Tractor while Santos scored 26 points for Saudi Diyar.
In the last game, AKA-PPG bounced back to beat Afran 77-59. Torres topscored with 21 points for AKA-PPG while Tablizo scored 18 points for Afran.
Kilo5 beat Mega Body Shop 58-57, Family Abhur defeated Lexus 77-67, Saudi Diyar beat AKA-PPG 76-63, CSOC beat Head Office 58-57, PCC Denso beat ALJ Hospital 78-74 while Sharbatly defeated Zahid Tractor 89-83 during Haj Holidays.
