LONDON, 1 March 2003 — British Airways has rearranged flight schedules so crews will no longer stay overnight in the Gulf, the airline said yesterday. All flights between London and the Gulf states will stop in Larnaca, Cyprus, and crews will return there rather than staying over in the Gulf, BA said. Spokeswoman Cathy West said the region’s uncertain political and security situation had prompted the decision, which was also influenced by a need to make operations in the area smoother and more efficient. The airline is eliminating flights between London and Muscat, Oman, and flying from London to Dubai, once daily rather than twice, West said.
