JEDDAH, 1 March 2003 — Al-Ittihad and Al-Nasr were locked in an intense 3-3 stalemate in the King Fahd Cup Soccer Tournament at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here.

Ittihad stay at the top with 35 points and Nasr, who are tied with Al-Ahli on 29 points, move to fourth place on goal difference.

Ittihad took the lead in the tenth minute with Bassem Al-Yami being on target with a header. Nasr secured an equalizer in the 36th minute with a dipping header from Tinerio. Ittihad went ahead again in the 44th minute with Manaf Abushigair connected on a superb Muhammad Nur center to strike home from point blank range.

Nasr again came back to level the scoring in the 57th minute from their other import Boscab from a goalmouth scramble. Nasr then struck their third from the spot in the 73rd minute through Cesar after Ittihad’s Ahmad Al-Essa was given the marching orders for handling inside the box.

But a ten-strong Ittihad showed their resilience when they came back to salvage a draw with Marzouk Al-Otaibi hitting home in the 89th minute.

In an another encounter Al-Taie beat Shola 1-0, to advance to seventh with 21 points while Shola drops to eight with 19 points. In the third match of the day, Al-Riyadh defeated Al-Qadisiya 3-2. Riyadh surge up to ninth spot with 15 points, while Qadisiya remain third with 30 points.
