MOSCOW, 9 March 2003 — Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Ali Al-Naimi is to visit Russia soon to discuss oil policy in the light of growing tensions over Iraq, the Interfax news agency reported yesterday quoting Saudi diplomatic sources.
The trip from March 12 to 15 “is part of energy policy coordination between the two countries, which are the two largest oil exporters, and aims to step up coordination,” Interfax quoted the sources as saying.
The visit will be a return visit after Russian Fuel and Energy Minister Igor Yusufov traveled to Saudi Arabia in January, the sources said.
