JEDDAH, 22 March 2003 — There is no move to allow women to work in stores selling perfumes and ladies’ clothes, according to Manpower Council Chairman Dr. Abdulwaheed Al-Homaid. There were rumors that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry had decided to allow women to work in perfume and cosmetics stores. Dr. Al-Homaid told Arab News that mixing of genders in the market place is totally forbidden.
