MAKKAH, 28 March 2003 — Dr. Ibrahim Turkistani, psychiatrist at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, has warned parents against allowing children to watch the bombings in Iraq on satellite channels, Al-Madinah reported. He said that scenes of bombings, destruction, fires and mutilated bodies would affect children psychologically. “Children should not be exposed to graphic scenes that would make them fearful and scared. This could result in eating and sleeping disorders,” Dr. Turkistani said.
