JEDDAH, 7 April 2003 — The Ministry of Health has taken steps to prevent the SARS virus from entering the Kingdom. The ministry distributed masks among airport employees who are in direct contact with travelers.
Official sources told Al-Watan newspaper the ministry wanted to keep the disease out of the Kingdom since the time for Umrah is approaching. The ministry is also increasing awareness of the SARS virus among airport employees and flight crews.
