JEDDAH, 7 April 2003 — Jeddah Regional Lab yesterday confirmed another case of dengue fever in Jeddah. Muhammad Al-Jifri, the director of the lab, told Arab News that a total of eight cases of dengue fever have been confirmed in Jeddah since February.

“We have received three samples of suspected dengue cases, two from Jeddah and one from Rabigh,” he said. “All were positives and we reported the matter to the directorate of health affairs in Jeddah for action.”

Al-Jifri said that all suspected cases in Jeddah are sent to Jeddah Regional Lab which is the official point of reference for such cases.
