HP’s e-Government Solutions roadshow opens today in Riyadh at Al-Faisaliah Hotel. During this half-day seminar, HP will be presenting and discussing its full portfolio of e-Government Solutions, e-Education solutions and Healthcare Information Systems.
“Over the past few years, the Middle East region has invested heavily in information technology, due to the demand generated by a local IT market of $5 billion in 2003,” said Joseph Hanania, regional general manager, HP Middle East and enterprise solutions manager. “Through the support of government initiatives throughout the region, the Middle East’s burgeoning IT industry continues to evolve at a steady pace.”
At the roadshow, HP will demonstrate several models for e-government infrastructure platforms that governmental organizations could use as a means of providing a modern Information Society.
“It is hugely important for governments today to offer information about public services transparently to their citizens. Education and healthcare initiatives and programs should be readily available to the public, in an easily accessible format online,” said Rudi Richter, director government and public affairs, HP Eastern and Central Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Another IT event to be held in Riyadh this month is GITEX Saudi Arabia. The IT trade show will open on April 27. “The patronage of Riyadh Governor Prince Salman, for GITEX Saudi Arabia, organized by Riyadh Exhibitions Company (REC), with the cooperation of Riyadh’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Dubai World Trade Center, reflects the governor’s continuous support for exhibitions organized in Riyadh. Such events expose developments in the trade, industry and service sectors of the Kingdom, in addition to attracting international companies and foreign investors to explore major trade opportunities benefiting the Kingdom’s economy,” said Prince Saud Al-Abdullah Al Faisal, chairman, REC.
