JEDDAH, 25 April 2003 — Al-Hilal garnered full points in their match against Al-Nasr in Riyadh yesterday with a 2-0 verdict against a Nasr side reduced to nine by full time. Two Nasr players were given the marching orders during a frantic second half in which Hilal got its goals. The victory kept Hilal in fifth position, but allowed Al-Qadisiya to take third following a 2-1 victory over Shola in the other match of the day.
Qadisiya are now on 42 points, and with Nasr remaining on 39, and now exchange places with Nasr, who are now fourth. Hilal stay fifth with 38 points. Qadisiya and Ahli contest a key match next week which could well decide the second place finisher behind Al-Ittihad. After a scoreless first half, in which Nasr held the upper hand in the share of exchanges, Hilal took the lead in the fourth minute after the break when an Andre pass was clinically directed home by Abdullah Al-Jamman.
Al-Jamman then doubled his tally when again he was on target. His first time effort was blocked by Nasr goalkeeper, but he was swift to take the second chance as he hit home the rebound. He was put ahead by Khalid Aziz with a crisp pass.
