JEDDAH, 26 September 2003 — A breathtaking event carrying the title of Red Bull Super X in the City will mark the sports calendar of the UAE on Wednesday (Oct. 3). The event will take place in Abu Dhabi, near the Marina Mall and will be held under the patronage of Sultan ibn Khalifa ibn Zayed Al-Nahyan, president of the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club.

“The UAE is one of our most active markets, and since Abu Dhabi is the capital we’ve decided to hold the event over there,” Red Bull’s Regional Marketing Director Selim Chidiac said. “We’re keen on offering the UAE residents an exciting event, which will educate sports fans about an extreme sport that is still unknown t the region. We’re working hand in hand with the local authorities who are generously supporting us in order to hold a successful event and promote extreme sports in the UAE in general.”

On the other hand, and in order to build a world-class racing track, Red Bull is working closely with the Emirates Car and Motorcycle Racing Club in Umm Al Quwain. The club has delegated an expert in the field who is at the same time an accredited member of the International Motorcycling Federation.

The track will be designed to accommodate the race, which will be rich in exciting jumps to be performed by some 40 bikers.

The event is sponsored by Hilton, Radio 1 and Radio 2, and is expected to be a big draw.
