ALKHOBAR, 14 November 2003 — Danny Villegas and Raffy dela Cruz outsplayed the pair of Freddie Santos and Mar David, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to capture the Class B championship in the recently concluded 3rd Telemoney Tennis Cup at the Algosaibi Hotel recreation center.
The game of S. Hira and Mar Lucanas was the most exciting match in the championships. The dynamic duo edged the pair of Becbec Corpuz and Arnold Saavedra in a thrilling score of 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, to win the Class A title.
In Flight 1, Roderick Lazaro and Sonny Santos humbled Cocoy Ares and Jess Amita 6-2, 6-4.
In Class C, Sandy Cruz and Eloy Torres came from behind to outlast Jun Cabaccang and Rod Garcia 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. Class D saw Rommel Aguiluz and Jonjie Lomibao crush Ed Laderas and Danny Paring of FETA 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.
Finally in Class E, Robert Ricarte and Noelito Cui sneaked past Cris Canada and Rex Serrano 7-5, 6-3, Cathay Pacific Airways raffled off two roundtrip air tickets, via Bahrain-Hongkong-Manila to the participants and spectators who donated for the cause of Bantay Bata 163.
