RIYADH, 14 November 2003 — Gablino, Alforque and Gomez scored a total of 55 points and beat Meed Klassno in the first game of the Filipino Basketball League held at the White Palace Hotel.
Gablino led Thaipan with 24 points, Alforque had 17 points, and Gomez had 14 points, 17 rebounds 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 shot blocks. Hot-handed Semilla led the scoring of Meed with an 18-point output in the game. Thaipan led the score by 3 points at the half, and victory by 14 point 75-61 at the end of the game.
In another game of the day, Al Khorayef team took Amir Sultan with ease 73-62. Magalong and Quirante led the team by 19 and 18 points respectively against Dela Cruz and Alvarez of Amir Sultan team who had 15 and 10 points respectively. Al Khorayef showed consistency in offense and defense in the third quarter, taking back the lead by six points and victory 73-62.
