WASHINGTON, 16 November 2003 — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) which governs university sport in the United States, will likely join the growing list of organizations testing for the newly discovered synthetic steroid THG.
“The NCAA has a history of quickly adopting new laboratory tests to deter the use of banned drugs,” NCAA spokeswoman Monica Lunderman said. THG is banned by the NCAA as a “related compound” to named products on the banned list,” Lunderman told AFP.
She said the NCAA is working with the Olympic Analytical Laboratory to develop a plan to add THG testing to its testing program, now that it can be identified.
