LOS ANGELES, 23 November 2003 — Hot-shooting Baron Davis was nearly unstoppable from long range, but rookie David West couldn’t make a lay-in when it mattered most.
Davis scored 33 points, including 7-of-10 3-pointers but West missed a wide-open lay-in at the buzzer as the visiting Indiana Pacers escaped with a 76-75 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night.
Jermaine O’Neal had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Ron Artest scored 22 points for Indiana, which improved to an NBA-best 10-2 record, including a perfect 6-0 on the road.
