OTTAWA, 1 December 2003 — Bryan McCabe scored the game-winner on a two-man advantage in the second period as the Toronto Maple Leafs won their fourth straight game, defeating their provincial rivals the Ottawa Senators 2-1 on Saturday.
Ed Belfour made 24 saves in goal for the Maple Leafs, who won for just the second time in their last nine regular season games against Ottawa.
Rookie Matt Stajan scored the other Leafs goal, as Ottawa lost its second straight game.
The disappointing Senators have just one win in their last five contests.
Jason Spezza scored the lone Ottawa goal. Patrick Lalime made 22 saves in goal for Ottawa.

In Los Angeles, Michael Cammalleri scored a pair of goals to lead the Kings past the slumping Chicago Blackhawks 3-1. Brad Chartrand scored a shorthanded goal for the Kings, as the Hawks winless streak was stretched to 11 games.

In Atlanta, Pasi Nurmminen made 27 saves as the Thrashers rallied to edge the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1. Vyacheslav Kozlov and J.P. Vigier scored third period goals to lift Atlanta into first place in the Southeast Division.

In Raleigh, North Carolina, Radim Vrbata fired a hat trick to lead the Carolina Hurricanes past the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3. Marty Murray scored the other Carolina goal, as the Hurricanes out-shot the Penguins 38-25.

In Uniondale, John LeClair had a goal and an assist to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5-1 win over the New York Islanders, extending Philadelphia’s unbeaten streak to 12 games.

In St. Louis, Boyd Devereaux scored with 2:23 to play to give the Detroit Red Wings a 2-1 win over the Blues.
Brett Hull scored the Red Wings’ other goal, his 728th, while Chris Chelios picked up his 900th point.

In Calgary, Brendan Morrison scored three goals, including the game-tying tally with 2:09 to play, to give the Vancouver Canucks a 4-4 tie with the Calgary Flames. Ryan Kesler scored his first goal for the Canucks, unbeaten in three games (2-0-1).
