RIYADH, 16 April 2004 — The unstoppable Stars & Stripes bowling team coached by JR Bagon and Fred Dilapdilap, team member of the Kamandag 2 team managed by Boy Fogata and Ave Tena showed their devastating forms to capture the best team and best bowler of the week awards in the 5th week of the Thursday Inter-Commercial Bowling League being played at the FAL Bowling Alley.

The brilliant performances of Willie Ortega, JR Bagon and Andy Altea powered the Stars & Stripes to wallop the Kamandag 2 (19-4). Ortega, bowler of the week holder led the Stars & Stripes by carding a four-game series of 794. Bagon and Altea, likewise, seared the lanes to post a separate series of 764 and 754 while fellow Babes Nival and Allan dela Rosa contributed a separate series of 716 and 711. At the center stage in the Kamandag 2 team was the week’s best bowler awardee, Fred Dilapdilap who tallied an impressive four game series of 788.

Rey Mendoza scored 662 series in three outings while duo of Edgar Buenaventura and Polo Lobo carded an identical series of 634.

The Perfect 100 team captained by Willy Nogoy dismantled the undermanned SkFreight /OFWBR (16-5) and showing the way in the Perfect 100 was Jasper Durago with 772 points. The hard-hitting Fred Zacarias sizzled to post a series of 742 while the trio of Willy Nogoy, Gigi Enriquez and Eymard Dimayuga submitted a separate series of 694, 679 and 641.

Atoy Malubay shot a four game-series of 754 to topscore in the SkyFreight/OFWBR squad. Noli Ritual was next to Malubay with a series of 662 followed by Larry Mondoy with 652 pinfalls. Nolie Medrano and Gerry Talusig rolled a separate series of 573 and 508 in four matches.

The current league leaders, the Pangasinan Strikers and the RJ Bowlers posted victories over their respective rivals, the Bukabin Eagles and the Saudi British Bank by snatching an identical 13 points. Topscoring in the Pangasinan was Dan Castro with 751 series. Willie de Mesa was next to Castro with a series of 681. Yuli Braganza toppled 586 series in three games while Ric Urrutia, Sr. chipped-in 472 points. Urrutia, Jr. had a series of 442 in three sets. Joey Maningas topscored in the RJ Bowlers by posting a series of 784. Rey Lansang and Jess Cuevas supported Maningas by adding a separate series of 645 and 639 while Roger Bautista scored 581. Manny Balangue and Wilson Bacala shone in the Bukabin Eagles team by submitting a separate series of 718 and 709. Benny Mondoy sealed 658 series and Jhun Visda and Henry Sonias downed a series of 520 and 455 in three matches. The Bukabin Eagles snatched 7 points. In the Saudi British Bank team, the leading scorer was Vic Marzo with 737 series. The flamboyant Ramil Espiritu sealed 570 points while Eden Bergonio and Johnny Cayetano had a series of 516 and 512. Bernie Magbag got a series of 319 in two matches. The Saudi British Bank registered a total of four points.

In another fashion, the fancied Sacir/Abir team recorded another impressive victory when they defeated the favorite D’Batch 2004 (12-11). Team captain Gani Buen piloted the Sacir/Abir team by knocking-down a series of 691 in four games.
