YANBU, 23 April 2004 — Yanbu Cricket League general body meeting was held on March 30 at RC/YCL Cricket Office.

The team managers in attendance were: Khalid Khan of Jotun Paints; Akram Qureshi of Royal Commission 'A' Farooque Khatri of Royal Commission 'B' Shafeeque of Blue Star; Hamid Hussaini of Saudi Aramco; Tripathi of Almacon; Siraj of Cristal and Imaz of YLSC.

President Abdul Jabbar Hussain welcomed the members and said that without their hard work it was not possible to achieve the goal of providing floodlights facility to the cricket field in Yanbu, the only cricket field with such a facility.

They unanimously elected Abdul Jabbar Hussain as president for another term of two years.

Vice President Khalid Khan, also the general secretary (administration), called for new members but the meeting decided to expand the committee members while asking the present office-bearers to continue in their present position.

Shankar Ratnadurai was appointed as a joint general secretary (admin), Siraj as public relation officer, and Dr. Aamir as media coordinator along with Aslam Qureshi.

The executive committee was also expanded with the induction Iqbal Patel, Abdul Aleem, Riyaz Ahmed, Shaukatullah, and Basharat. Imaz was inducted as a technical committee member.

The other major issue discussed was the upgrading of YCL Rules and Regulations and the copies of the rules were distributed to all the members for review and suggestions.

The date for the next tournament was also and is a league, with the competition restricted to 20 overs a side.

The chief guest of the evening Essam Kultoom, the deputy director general of social service of Royal Commission, congratulated the winning team Almacon and assured YCL that the Royal Commission will continue its support to the league for promoting cricket in Yanbu. Other dignitaries present were Fawad Saroji, Adnan Haidri, of Royal Commission Social Service Dept., Ibrahim, project manager Al-Yasrah Est. Fakir Mohammed Patel, of Royal Commission, Farid Zaki & Maqsood Ali of Lubrizol, and Hamid Hussaini from Saudi.
