RIYADH, 30 April 2004 — The Jarir Bookstore team of Johnny Castillo and Mutaz Maroun led this week's winning teams in the Jeraisy Group Inter-Company (Bonafide) Basketball Tournament at the Jeraisy Staff Compound Basketball Court, Exit 7 Riyadh.

Al Arabi Dècor group of Joemarie Catalan and Gery Noga, Arabian Homes and Samama Company teams won with thrilling narrow margins.

The match between the Bookstore and the Actimel (Al-Safi) teams saw Owen Del Rosario, Rodel Realica, Bobby Cortez, Bassam Al-Momani, and Omar Tamano contesting hard to record their first win over their counterparts Chris Sanchez, Roy Delos Santos, Samer Al Qaissi, Dante Gumin and Henry Dumalaon.

The curtain closed with a narrow 67-66 win for Jarir Bookstore.

Al Arabi Dècor and Samama Company teams battled to an exciting finish. Darwin Cunanan, Raymund Tulud of the Dècor team and Julius Santiago, Sandy Fugaban of the Samama team played terrific defense while Randy David, Eugene Zapata and Alistair Navarro countered the attack of Samama's Chris Castillo, Rodel Dungan, and Yousuf Mohd. as the Dècor team secured their second win, 76-67.

Undermanned with only 5 cagers during the first half of the ballgame, the Saudi Lighting team through Bong Oraa, Jeff Salac, Hene Condenato, Ronnie Felipe and Osman Bernawi managed to stay close to the Arabian Homes team spearheaded by Ding Sotelo, Fred Granaderos, Arnaldo Cajote, Chris Mabasa and Carlo Guerrero. Eric Gamil, Larry Silverio and David Manuel could not stop the Arabian Homes team from recording a 10-point win, 97-87, at the close.

In an earlier encounter, the Samama Company team coached by Otoy Ibanez grabbed their first win at the expense of the host team Jeraisy, 69-64. Yousuf Mohammad, Chris Castillo, Julius Santiago, Rodel Dungan and Ramon Cano topscored for the winning team while the Jeraisy team of Coach Pepe Culla featured Rino Tolentino, Allan Casapao, Edward Cayabyab, Alex Cerro and Roy Digo.
