RIYADH, 30 April 2004 — ECR finally captured the one that got away the last time as they clinched Team of the Week honors during the fourth session of the LS Monday Night Bowling League 4th Conference at the Al Khozama Bowling Center.
After a failed bid on the first week when So Much won via the countback, ECR joined the circle of Team of the Week winners with a crushing 14-3 victory over FOBR on total pinfalls of 3,824 and 3,562.
Also rebounding from losses were Pangasinan Strikers and defending champions Missed Beat who blasted Pin Rockers 13-2 (3,743-3,519) and Vision 2 11-2 (3,546-3,423) respectively. Al Khozama downed Garnet Cargo 10-6 (3,679-3,613) in a battle of sponsors in the five-man team tournament.
From Khozama’s ranks came the Bowler of the Week in Boy Fogata with a series of 830 on lines of 169, 187, 214 and 216. On the lanes it was Bowler of the First Week, Arcie Consolacion, who fired the high series of 840.
Consolacion, ineligible for another Bowler of the Week award as per tournament rules, carded games of 201, 257, 182 and 200 to preside over a hot ECR attack.
Art Palustre and Fe Cayde shot 840 and 744 respectively to back up Consolacion. Contributions of 681, 570 and 174 were poured in by Peter Sabico, Andy Altea and Ronnie Cayde in that order.
Pangasinan Strikers used a six-man rotation to telling effect. At the helm was Johnny de Asis with 759.
Ave Tena made 752 that went with the 734 by Wilson Bacala, 619 by Joey Maningas, 542 by Dan Castro and 337 by Rey Mendoza.
