DAMMAM, 7 May 2004 — The first ever EPTA League is approaching toward its climax. The two semifinals held at Safco Ground proved to be thrillers.

Suzuki Deccan won the toss and elected to field. Young Guns scored 137 runs for 7 wickets with Obaid brilliantly scoring 48.

In reply, Suzuki Deccan came close only to lose by a run. Needing only 3 runs in the final over with 2 wickets remaining, they were checkmated by Adeel of Young Guns who broke the last of Suzuki Deccan's resistance.

In the other semifinal, Anak won the toss and elected to bat. Brilliant fielding and consistent bowling from Punjab XI restricted them to 97 runs in their alloted overs, with Omer Butt scoring 35 runs.

In response, Punjab XI fell to the bowling of Mazhar, who took 4 wickets. Punjab XI could not score 13 runs in the last over and lost to Anak by 4 runs.
