PARIS, 13 May 2004 — Pascal Feindouno struck twice as Girondins Bordeaux beat Paris St. Germain 3-0 and seriously damaged the Parisians’ Ligue 1 title hopes on Tuesday.
The Guinean international rewarded Bordeaux’s constant domination when he volleyed home a Frank Jurietti cross in the 22nd minute and made it two in a counter-attack in the 49th.
Morocco’s Marouane Chamakh sealed victory 15 minutes from the final whistle. PSG could have twice got back into the match but Bordeaux goalkeeper Ulrich Rame saved two penalties, from PSG captain Frederic Dehu in first-half injury time and Brazilian Reinaldo in the 58th minute.
The loss leaves PSG, who have only two games ahead of them, three points behind leaders Olympique Lyon.
Lyon, the 2002 and 2003 champions, host struggling Bastia on Wednesday and should they beat the Corsicans, PSG’s title chances would be ruined. Lyon would have a six-point lead and a far better goal difference than the Parisians, whom they meet on Saturday at the Parc des Princes.
