RIYADH, 21 May 2004 — XTRM Fusion snagged one of the last few Team of the Week honors up for grabs with a steady display during the 25th session of the Sabado Nights Bowling League 16th Conference at the Al Khozama Bowling Center here.
XTRM shot the best output of 3,922 in a 3-1 triumph over R.M. & The Hotshots for their third team award in the long-drawn five-man team event. Samsco stunned three-time defending champion Stinger 3.5-.5 on total pinfalls of 3,906 and 3,564.
T.J. Bowlers brought down Ball Innovations 3-1 (3,787-3,445) and Insektos drew with Xtra Pins 2-2 (3,850-3,836) in the other matches in the tourney sponsored by Restaurant Korean Palace. Jamroen Sriprom of Xtra Pins nailed the Bowler of the Week award when he carded the high series of 828. XTRM failed to breach the 4,000-points mark but then their tally topped everyone else's thanks to an effective six-man rotation. Jett Cabana led XTRM with 777. Providing the needed backup were skipper Cesar de Mesa with 762, Ding Galvez with 743 and Rodel Cansanay with 719. Bert Ambo added 310 and Ferdie Ramos 296.
Despite the defeat, R.M. & The Hotshots came away with the second best output of 3,858 mainly because of the trio of Danny Binauro, Ronie Cayde and Ray Panlaqui, who fired 790, 744 and 731 in that order. Samsco drew 807 from Arnel Garlan, 739 from Philip Lee, 731 from Raul Medina, 730 from skipper Nader El Kadi and 709 from Jun Balubayan
