RIYADH, 21 May 2004 — The Power Horse Energy Drink Darters led by team captain Nerio Brosas demolished co-qualifiers Absal Central Aircon Dart Team and Alesayi Motors Darters one after the other in the third week of the step-ladder semifinals of the 20th EDSA Inter-Commercial Dart Team Tournament being held at the Basement Level of Manila Plaza Commercial Center in Batha.

Power Horse started by eliminating Absal Central Aircon Dart Team which sorely missed their team captain Ricky Virgula. Energy Drink started hot, leading 7-3 after the Singles leg but Aircon tied the score at 7-all through upset wins by their novices Nilo Gammad and Ferdie Ortua over the highly touted hotshots of Power Horse.

Dart icon Rex Abrenica thrilled the crowd with his Bulls-eye outshot when he paired with Ronald Reyes. In the last Doubles match, Power Horse had to rely on the dependability of their highly experienced team captain who is used to such pressure. Most Valuable Player Fernando "FPJ" Castro laid the final touches when he paired with Alex Suyo for the kill. Final score 11-7.

Alesayi Motors Darters gave SkyFreight-STR Dart Team their walking papers at 13-8. The Turbo Chargers roared out loud from the start through quick Single finishes by Adrian Tolentino, Henry Faustino, Pepe Ilarde and Romy Labios. Ramon Flores and Peter Lachica created havoc by displaying high outshots but the Cargo Experts did not easily give up and rallied through impressive wins in the Doubles by their gunners Conrad Gonzaga, Lito Javier, Edgar Garcia and Fred Villapando which forced the decision match. Being the first runner-up last season, Alesayi did not succumb to pressure and held on to their lead.

In the succeeding game, Power Horse beat Alesayi Motors Darters. The Energy Drink Kings ended the Singles with a 6-4 lead with an unbelievable High 141 outshot by Alesayi's rookie Ruel Rosauro. Power Horse's hotshots Mario Guanzon and Alex Suyo answered by finishing their matches via Double Bulls outshots.

The tandems of Philip Agliam and Nelson Sarte, Fernando Castro and Alex Suyo followed with victories then the duo of Mario Guanzon and Nelson Callos ended all hopes of recovery by the Turbo Chargers. Final score: 12-4.
