RIYADH, 28 May 2004 — In their first of two head-to-head matches to decide the title, D'Invaders downed D'Marvelous in 20th week of the NAK Park USA Sunday Night Bowling League 8th Conference at the Riyadh Bowling Club lanes here.

After a tense semifinal won by D' Invaders 17-10 on total pinfalls of 3,822 and 3,719 D'Marvelous saw their lead cut down to a mere four points. And if the postseason awards are to be any gauge, D'Invaders should clearly have the momentum in the final. The league MVPs, Romy Zafe in Class O, A and B and Tony Vicario in Class C and D, both come from D'Invaders. Vicario was also named Most Improved Player.

Zafe captains the team and his 790 was key support for Ernie Quiambao, who led D'Invaders' charge at 847. Fidel Ferrer tallied 762, JB Valerio 740 and Ronald Bautista 683.

D'Invaders lost just the second game and earned nine bonus points against D'Marvelous who are now facing their toughest challenge after having ruled this five-man team league event for the longest time.

Unlimited VI looked the likely third place winner despite taking a 21-14 defeat by Schneider Electric on total pinfalls of 3,971 and 3,898. Deposed champion Al Mishari Pinbuster hammered out a lopsided 20-6 triumph over Blue Blood on total pinfalls of 3,837-3,610. Jadawel Bowling Club beat Saudi Tornado 17-10 (3,884-3,768) and Okey Lang won by default over HTG-Margie 22-0 (3,909-0) in the other 20th week matches in tournament sponsored by NAK Park USA.
