LE MANS, France, 12 June 2004 — British driver Johnny Herbert sets his sights on a second victory in the Le Mans 24 Hour Race this weekend with a host of fellow Formula One refugees pressing him for victory in the classic endurance race.
Herbert, who won the race here in 1991 behind the wheel of a Mazda, spearheads the challenge of Audi who are expected to dominate the race after being squeezed out by Bentley in 2003.
The race also features Ralf Firman, who drove last year for the Jordan F1 team, Justin Wilson who lost his seat at Jaguar after starting the F1 season with Minardi and Allan McNish who had one year at Toyota. Former world rally champion Colin McRae, is also taking part for the first time behind the wheel of a Ferrari.
Herbert teams up with Jamie Davies and Guy Smith who was part of the winning Bentley team of 2003.
