In a recent report, it was stated that European security agencies’ reactions to the US Sept. 11 Commission Report was reserved. Despite the clear criticism directed at their fellow Americans because of a lack of coordination and cooperation with Europeans, they refuse to place full blame on the FBI and CIA. One European expert said that the refusal was due to the lies used to justify the war in Iraq, the absence of American evenhandedness in the Arab world and Washington’s brazen bias toward Israel. And the European expert questions whether the US is fighting terrorism or feeding it! A European security source warned that the new American techniques and procedures approved by Donald Rumsfeld to fight terrorism — such as allowing the CIA to execute terrorists wherever they are found — opens the door even wider to rights violations.
European intelligence seems to agree on one point: The dangers and threats of terrorist violations and hostilities have not lessened and further, that capturing of Al-Qaeda resources has not prevented the birth of new ideologies that are able to spread throughout the world. The Europeans emphasize that some terrorist cells that have been penetrated and stopped in Europe had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda; they did not even share Al-Qaeda’s ideology. In fact, Al-Qaeda’s independence, the variety of its activities, the different aspects of its work and concealment often attract financial support from humanitarian organizations and groups which the anti-terrorist forces have been unable to stop.
We would like to hear the opinion of Arab security agencies and the Arab League about the controversial Congressional Report. The US administration and the US Congress have a great need to be directly confronted with the following fact: The core of the terrorist problem lies in US support, financing and arms given to Israel and used against Arabs. This is in addition to the unjust Zionist campaigns the US media runs against Arabs, generally Muslims and Saudi Arabia, as well as the double standards used in any stories about Arabs and Muslims.
Recently a Zionist newspaper published reports where Israeli snipers gave accounts of their cold-blooded killing of Palestinians. One 22 year-old sniper told the newspaper: “I killed a lot of them while serving in the Gaza Strip. It’s very interesting. I’d draw a cross on the Palestinian’s forehead and then pull the trigger. At that moment I felt like a bear ending the life of the human race.” He added, “My first sniper operation was killing a 16-year-old whom we suspected to be part of the resistance. It doesn’t matter that we later found that he wasn’t.” The sniper watched the funeral of his victim on TV without flinching.
A 23-year-old sniper said: “I feel like I’m working like a robot because all human feelings disappear. I become a tool and official authority activates me only in order to carry out operations.” He described the end of his sniper-training course, saying, “The course lasts for 4 weeks and part of it is practice. At the time we feel that we’re on top of everything and everyone. How proud we are when we present the number of those we have killed at the end of the course! We drink champagne and dance but we don’t speak of what we have done to our parents, friends or partners.” These are the feelings among Zionists about the killing of Palestinians. Anyone can see it is a sick policy, carried out by sick souls. It is equally obvious that it is a carefully-programmed policy for Israel, a state founded on — and by — terrorism and one which has continued to live on — and by — terrorism.
In Qatar a few months ago two Russian intelligence agents were tried for the assassination of the former Chechnyan President Salim Khan. Khan was killed in his car as he was leaving Friday prayers. The court refused any appeal, emphasizing that the murder had been carried out in accordance with orders from Russian leadership. This is addition to the genocide the Russian forces carry out against the Chechnyan nation, destroying its towns and cities, torturing its youth, raping its women and stealing its wealth.
We too behold an equally horrifying picture. It shows us the terrorism of a large country claiming that it is fighting terrorism while in fact, it is using all the forms of terrorism available to its unlimited abilities and its military.
