JEDDAH, 2 September 2005 — Al-Ittifaq found no difficulty eliminating Al-Ittihad from Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Cup soccer tournament with a 3-1 victory in the Group C contest on Wednesday.
Ittifaq took the lead in the group with 10 points while Ittihad are last with 4 points and out of the competition.
Ittifaq’s goals came from Al-Sahali in the 19th minute, Basheer in the 46 th and Saad Al-Aboud in the 53rd minute.
The only goal for Ittihad came in the 55th minute courtesy of Hamad. In another match in the same group, Abha of Abha drew 1-1 against Al-Wehda of Makkah in Makkah.
Wehda, with 5 points , are also out of competition while Abha still have a chance with 8 points in second position. Abha will play their next match against Ittifaq in which their only chance is to win the match in order to qualify.
Al-Hilal of Riyadh qualified to the semifinal of the competition after winning against Qadiseya 2-0. Hilal are on top of Group-A with 11 points and face a less dangerous side in city rivals Al-Nasr in their final match.
Hilal goals against Qadisiya were scored in the 10th minute by Al-Faraj and in the 80th minute by Al-Suwaileh. Qadisiya are last with 3 points. In the other match of the group, Nasr won the match against Al-Ansar of Madinah 3-1.
