MEXICO CITY, 27 September 2005 — Mexican champions America thumped nine-man Necaxa 4-1 to extend their unbeaten domestic run to 26 games on Sunday.
Brazilian Kleber, Argentine Claudio Lopez and Mexicans Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Assron Padilla shared the goals for America, who lead Group One in the Apertura championship with 23 points from nine games.
Necaxa, eight points behind in second place, had Colombia midfielder Tressor Moreno and Brazilian Fabiano Pereira sent off, both for second bookable offenses.
Paraguayan forward Nelson Cuevas scored twice, including an injury-time winner, as Pachuca beat Atlante 3-2 to stay top of Group Two on goal difference from Toluca.
Playing their first game under new coach Sergio Bueno, Atlante had Chilean striker Sebastian Gonzalez sent off in the 44th minute for a vicious kick at Gabriel da Anda.
Guadalajara won 2-1 at San Luis for only their third win in nine games.

Suffer Crushing Defeat
In Buenos Aires, Boca Juniors went top of the Argentine championship on Sunday after previous leaders San Lorenzo crashed to a shock away 2-0 defeat at modest Instituto.
Instituto had failed to win any of their first seven matches and had scored only one goal before Sunday’s match against previously unbeaten opponents.
Uruguayan Leonel Pilipausakas and Gonzalo Bergessio stunned San Lorenzo with two goals in the opening half hour and the visitors never looked capable of clawing their way back into the game.
San Lorenzo, who have 15 points from eight games, dropped for fifth in the table with the loss, below Independiente on goal difference. Boca, led by former Argentina coach Alfio Basile, took full advantage by beating Racing Club 2-0.
Defending champions Velez beat Newell’s Old Boys 1-0 with an early goal from Lucas Castroman in a match played Friday.

Extend Contract at Real
In Madrid, England captain David Beckham is keen to extend his contract at Real Madrid.
“The club have said they want to talk to me about signing a new deal and I am very happy to do that,” Beckham told a news conference yesterday. “My life here is perfect and I’m happy at Real Madrid so of course I want to stay as long as I can.” The 30-year-old former Manchester United player has one more year on his deal after the end of this season but welcomed the club’s offer of talks.
“We have spoken about a meeting in the next couple of months but we’ll just have to wait because we’ve got so many matches and I need to concentrate on the football for now,” he said.
