RIYADH, 10 October 2005 — The Filipino trio of Peddy Lualhati, Angel Rodriguez and Mario Vera Cruz scored victories in the September monthly medal at the Palms Golf and Country Club of Riyadh Intercontinental Hotel here.
Lualhati won Division A (handicap 1-6) with a net score of even par 56. Rodriguez tallied a two-under net 54 for the Division B (7-12) honors, while beginning golfer Vera Cruz returned a 63 to clinch Division C title.
All three winners received SR250 pro-shop vouchers from the organizers led by PGCG golf coordinator Baby Joseph and golf professional Anwar Naz.
The nearest to pin special prize of SR185 voucher went to Lualhati on No. 1 and Ding Garcia on No. 18. Al Cieluch shot a 61, five over on the short but tricky Intercon layout, to capture best gross honors. The raffle division winners were Oscar Domingo, Noel Alipoyo, Charlie Prohmpradith and Umka Charnnara.
Meantime, Joseph and Naz announced the 2005 Open Golf Championship has been set for Nov. 17 and 18.
Prizes totaling SR30,000 are up for grabs in the two-day Stableford format competition, including two return air tickets to Paris and any point in Europe.
The tournament sponsors are Saudi French Bank, France Airlines and Power Horse energy drink.
