DAMMAM, 6 December 2005 — Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) yesterday announced that it is offering its academic programs in Dammam through its partner institute ATEICO Communications of Saudi Arabia. Since its inception 15 years ago, New Delhi-based IGNOU, which has its presence in Riyadh and Jeddah, has more than 1.5 million students with extremely varied profiles, spread throughout India and abroad, according to Riaz Mulla, general manager of ATEICO Communications. ATEICO Communications entered into a partnership deal with IGNOU and became its official representative in this part of the world in 2003. The Kingdom’s center started operating from January 2004. Today, its Jeddah and Riyadh centers have more than 500 students enrolled in various programs. IGNOU’s Dammam center opened recently.
