JEDDAH, 11 December 2005 — Alvario Ibrahim is the ‘dr.CAFÉ coffee champion’ of Saudi Arabia 2005, with Ahmad Al Washmi and Roberto Sontaz as the first two runners up.

Announcing the results of the dr.CAFÉ the perfect shot championship, the organizer, said recently that the final round of the contest took place at its new branch at Granada Shopping Center recently.

Winners were cash prizes and trophies in the presence of Yousef Al-Rajhi, president of dr.CAFÉ, and senior executives of the company. Relatives and friends of participants were also present.

Ibrahim is one of the professional baristas who joined the company six years ago. “Before joining dr.CAFÉ, I didn’t know how to brew a simple cup of coffee, but due to consistent training and self-development I’ve become a champion,” Ibrahim remarked on becoming the champion.

Winning the dr.CAFÉ perfect shot prize requires scoring the highest points given by the judges taking into consideration the visual appearance, taste, timing, maintenance, and calibrations of the coffee equipment.

By 2006, this championship will be regional and attracting baristas from different coffee shops to participate and win, said dr.CAFÉ, adding that it would arrange for travel and accommodation for the selected participants.
