JEDDAH, 11 December 2005 — The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) will be contributing to the development of a computer and information technology center at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In a cooperative effort, the JCCI will help to adapt its programs and policies to fit the needs of the MCCI.
SCT Accepts Job Applications
JEDDAH, 11 December 2005 — The Supreme Commission for Tourism (SCT), along with related chambers of industry, announced that it is accepting employment applications from Saudis in a number of jobs in the travel and tourism sector provided by travel agencies. These jobs include: Reservation and ticket agent, tourist guide, sales and marketing representatives, travel services, cargo agent, accountants, tour guide operators, tourism information representatives and customer service agents. Once the applicants pass the exams given, they will be enrolled in training programs at the chambers of commerce in Jeddah, Riyadh, Abha and Dammam.
Businessmen to Invest in Labs
JEDDAH, 11 December 2005 — Business executives agreed during a commerce committee meeting at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to invest in the development of labs in the Kingdom to help develop industrial sectors. The company’s first project will be a food and drug laboratory in Jeddah, which will provide its services to the private sector. The investment capital of SR30 million will be divided into 30,000 shares. The value of each share is SR1,000 with a minimum individual holding of 500 shares and a maximum of 3,000.
Bahrain to Host Tourism Forum
JEDDAH, 11 December 2005 — The Gulf tourism committee of the United Chambers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in cooperation with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bahrain Economic Development Council, will host a Gulf tourism investment forum in Manama on Feb. 14-16.
