MADINAH, 12 December 2005 — Gen. Ahmad Al-Raddadi, chief of Madinah police, announced the arrest of two suspects charged with the killing of a Sudanese worker. The crime, which shocked Madinah region, happened three months ago.
Al-Raddadi said that police arrested one of the suspects early Sunday morning. While in custody, the accused fingered a partner who was also allegedly involved in the killing. The two Saudi men are 20 and 21 years old.
The victim was identified at the time of the murder as Muhammad Abdul Jabbar, 40. He worked as a gas station attendant on the Madinah-Tabuk highway in Al-Mulaileeh.
The two Saudis confessed to the crime and told police that they demanded money from the victim. When the victim refused to give them money they shot him three times. The criminals ran away with a safe containing more than SR100,000 inside.
Police, in cooperation with the secret police and highway patrol, launched an intensive search for the criminals. The day after the murder, police found the killer’s car with the safe inside.
