MADINAH, 13 December 2005 — A 28-year-old mentally ill person set himself on fire early yesterday morning. The incident happened in Al-Jurf neighborhood in Madinah. He went on the street around 12:30 a.m. and tried to set himself ablaze.
People ran after him trying to extinguish the fire. After more than 10 seconds, they were able to grab him and put the fire out.
The man was transported by ambulance to King Fahd Hospital. He suffered severe burns on over 75 percent of his body.
