RIYADH, 15 December 2005 — Al-Hilal club sent an official letter to the Saudi Volleyball Federation to apologize for not participating in the forthcoming 24th Arab Volleyball Competition to be held in Syria in January 2006. “Following injuries to the players, the club would not be able to take part in the competition,” the club stated in its letter. However, Al-Ahli club is participating.
Charity Marathon
MADINAH — Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Majed, governor of Madinah, will sponsor a charity marathon. The marathon will start from Teachers College and will end at Muhammad ibn Abdul Aziz Sports City. Organizing the marathon aims at encouraging charity activities by city people.
Al-Otaibi Apologizes
JEDDAH — Marzook Al-Otaibi, star striker of Al-Ittihad club, apologized to Al-Ahli’s team captain Hussein Abdul Ghani for an incident that occurred during the Arab Champions League match two years ago. Otaibi attacked Ghani in frustration after his team lost 3-2.
