NAJRAN, 28 December 2005 — A deadly fight between members of two tribes in Yadma, in the southern Najran region, last week resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man, Al-Watan reported.
The cause of the clash, in which three others were wounded, was unknown.
The violence continued after members of one tribe pursued two brothers of the murder victim, firing shots in an attempt to kill them. The brothers escaped when members of their tribe answered with gunfire.
About 200 members of the police and Special Forces swooped in to control the situation. Some arrests were made. Authorities closed down all routes in and out of Yamda in an attempt to round up the suspects.
