Suspensions
DAMMAM, 18 January 2006 — The Saudi Handball Federation has meted out suspensions of four games to Khaleej club administrator Abdullah Al-Ajmi and 10 games to Wehda player Abdulrahman Barkawi for their involvement in incidents in previous matches. The decision to suspend was based on reports submitted by the referees.
Iraqi Duo Recalled
RIYADH, 18 January 2006 — Al-Shabab and Al-Hazem will miss the services of their Iraqi imports Nash’at Akram and Qusay Muneer for two months after the Iraqi Football Federation recalled the duo for national team duties. Iraq will play against Oman and Singapore next month.
Bahrain Put Off Friendly
RIYADH, 18 January 2006 — Bahrain Football Federation begged off in the friendly match against Saudi Arabia on April 7 because Bahrain were scheduled to play against Turkey on that date. BFF instead suggested to have the match postponed to April 30 and if the Saudi side agree then the friendly pushes through otherwise both parties will look for new options.
