JEDDAH, 30 January 2006 — On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of India becoming a republic, a reception was held on Saturday evening here, according to a press release from the Indian Consulate. A souvenir titled “India-Saudi Arabia in Focus” was released by the chief guest, Dr. Abdul Aziz ibn Hussain Al-Suwaigh, director general, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jeddah, the release added. A photo exhibition on Jammu & Kashmir was also held. The function was attended by a large gathering from diplomatic corps, Saudi business community and the media.
