MAKKAH, 10 February 2006 — After three months of living in a park in Makkah, a 50-year-old Indian woman grabbed a small boy and declared that the child was her son, the Okaz daily reported. Dadah Samidy insisted to police that she had been thrown out of her husband’s home claimaing that she’s crazy. She presented photocopies of her passport and a Makkah marriage license, though the paper did not provide details of who was listed on the license. Samidy broke down crying when the child was taken away from her. She is currently in custody as police try to ascertain her legal status in the country.
