HAIL, 19 February 2006 — A big fight erupted after the match among the players from Al-Jabaleen and Al-Watani in the first division competition. The fight started right after Al-Watani scored a goal on a penalty kick. Police had to be called in to restore order.
Japan Request SFF to Postpone Tie
RIYADH — The Japanese Football Federation made a request to the Saudi Football Federation to postpone their Sept. 3 match against Saudi Arabia in the Asian qualification, as most of their players are engaged with their teams. It is expected that the SFF will turn down the request.
Ittihad, Ittifaq Draw 2-2
DAMMAM, 19 February 2006 — Al-Ittihad drew 2-2 against Al-Ittifaq in a match in the Saudi Soccer League yesterday. Ittihad continue losing points, as they are not up to their mark in their recent matches. Most of their recent matches have ended in draws.
Ittihad are currently at fourth place with 23 points, while Ittifaq are fifth with 23 points. In Riyadh, Shabab defeated Ansar 2-1. Shabab are on top with 38 points, while Ansar are at the bottom with 9 points.
