JEDDAH, 19 February 2006 — Saudi Arabia will host the 10th Gulf Athletics Championship for youth April 18-20 in Qateef, said Prince Nawaf ibn Mohammed, president of the Saudi Federation for Athletics games, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The games will be held at the Prince Nawaf ibn Abdulaziz Sport City.
The specialized committee at the federation has begun the procedures to launch this championship successfully.
The national athletic team is preparing for the event by undergoing supervised trainings. These preparations include preparing in different cities in the Kingdom, such as Al-Taif, Jeddah, Abha and Al-Qateef. The national team will participate in more than 23 various games. The Saudi national team comprises Saudi athletes Hadi Hassan, Waleed Birnawi, Younis Housa, Saad Al-Subaii, Ali Al-Amri, Ahmad Al-Muwalad, Adel Aseri, Hashim Al-Agbi, Saad Al-Bishi, Imad Hamid, Ali Al-Diraan and Ismael Al-Sibyani.
