JEDDAH, 26 February 2006 — Prince Sultan ibn Fahd, head of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, issued an order to suspend Al-Ahli goalkeeper Abdu Besisi until further notice. He was suspended for misbehaving during the match against Al-Hilal. He was suspended for spitting on a referee after receiving a red card.
Saudi Arabia, Portugal Friendly on Wednesday
RIYADH, 26 February 2006 — Players from the national team joined the squad after taking two days off after a match in Yemen. The Saudi team will leave tomorrow for Germany to join training camp in which they will play a friendly against Portugal on Wednesday. Three new faces will be added in the roster including Muhammad Nur, Sami Al-Jaber and Saad Al-Harthi.
Ahli to Sign Wehda Striker Al-Kuwakbi
JEDDAH, 26 February 2006 — Al-Ahli club is currently in negotiations with Al-Wehda club to sign its top striker Alaa Al-Kuwakbi for the rest of the season for SR700,000. Al-Kuwakbi was included in the squad with the national team’s match against Yemen last week but was excluded by the coach. Currently he is playing with Wehda in preparation for the upcoming match against Al-Nasr.
