RIYADH, 15 March 2006 — Ghana’s president, John Kufuor, will open in Accra on Friday a major housing project by Jeddah-based Red Sea Housing Services (RSH) which will provide integrated housing solutions in remote areas around the world.
The opening will also coincide with the opening by the president of RSH’s branch office in Tema, Ghana, in the free zone. RSH is a subsidiary of the Al-Dabbagh Group, a world leader in prefabricated housing. A press team will leave Riyadh on Wednesday for Accra. The Saudi ambassador to Ghana will be the guest of honor.
According to Mark Sumner, general manager of RSH, the company sells and leases prefabricated modular buildings suitable for all types of climate. He said its operations are in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, with modern manufacturing facilities strategically located in Dubai, the UAE, Jubail and now Tema, Ghana.
Sumner pointed out that RSH had already completed its first building project for the Akyem Gold Mine in Ghana’s eastern region. The company will also assist Ghanaians with affordable, high quality and innovative residential housing solutions, he observed.
RSH got its first break in the portable building industry by importing prefabricated modular units from the US into the Kingdom. “With the huge potential market in the Middle East for portable housing, the owners established a full manufacturing branch in Jeddah as part of the Dabbagh Group of Companies. Since then, for the past 30 years, Red Sea Housing has delivered and installed thousands of buildings for hundreds of projects in 43 countries around the world,” Sumner added.
