DUBAI, 22 March 2006 — As the kick-off for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in June gets closer, Emirates has announced its FIFA packages to any of the airline’s European destinations that include complimentary match tickets to the game of their choice including the final - subject to availability.
This means that Emirates passengers traveling to the UK, France, Russia, Turkey, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Cyprus, Malta, Greece and, of course, Germany, on an Emirates FIFA package will receive a complimentary match ticket for the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals.
These Emirates FIFA packages were previously only available to passengers flying Emirates to Germany, Switzerland and Austria, but have now been extended to all European cities to satisfy customer demand.
“This initiative is part of Emirates ongoing commitment to its passengers and was intrinsic to the airline’s involvement as an official partner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup,” Emirates Airline and Group Chairman and Chief Executive Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said.
“Emirates has consistently stated its position as a committed supporter of sport and sporting sponsorships as a way to reach our customers and to share their passion and excitement for sport,” he added.
Emirates has worked with FIFA on putting together these deals which offer football fans a choice of flights to four German cities with hundreds of hotels to chose from in the 12 FIFA host cities.
On March 1, Emirates increased its services to Germany with a daily flight to Hamburg — a host city for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, thus offering football fans around the world greater choice and flexibility when they are making their travel plans for the tournament. Emirates will also increase its flights to Dusseldorf on May 1, which will see the airline fly twice daily to the city.
These packages, starting from 1,810 euros per person include Emirates flights to any of the airline’s European destinations with two nights’ accommodation from a choice of one of 12 cities where 2006 FIFA World Cup matches are being played, and a complimentary match ticket to any of the games including the final, subject to availability.
The offers are valid for all 64 FIFA World Cup matches between June 9 and July 9, including the final, and passengers can opt to watch one or more of the matches in Germany, as long as they meet booking requirements and reserve their hotel accommodation through Emirates at the time of booking.
