RIYADH, 27 March 2006 — A technical seminar for Filipino electrical engineers in Riyadh and nearby places will be held at the seminar hall of the Asia Brown Bovery (ABB) on Friday, organizers said yesterday.
Titled “Motor Controls and Operations,” the first seminar by the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers, Central Region Chapter Saudi Arabia (IIEE-CRCSA) for the year aims to enhance know-how on the different ways of control applied on specific electric motors, wiring techniques, practical computations and settings of control ratings.
“Some other operating techniques in running electric motors, which directly affects efficiency, the significant advantages and disadvantages factors of applications, and the engineering economy that plays a major role in the design without sacrificing safety, will be discussed,” said chapter President Francisco Sigaya Jr.
Due to the limited number of people that the venue can accommodate, attendance would be on a “first come, first serve” basis. Reservations should be made not later than Tuesday. Sigaya can be reached at 05672-31558.
Resource speaker Meliton Solas, a member of the IIEE-CRCSA Board of Directors, is to discuss in detail the component necessary for motor starters and insure the minimum required safety in motor power switching and motor protection functions to (IEC) standard.
“Mel, who has gained vast experience in the subject both in theory and practice will also share the latest training seminar related to the subject that he learned in from a seminar he attended in Sweden recently,” Sigaya said.
