JEDDAH, 27 March 2006 — Savola Group is opening its fifth Hyper Panda market today. It will be at the Al-Roshan Mall, the Globe roundabout on Malik Road, in Jeddah, making it the second Hyper Panda in Jeddah. The opening of this fifth Hyper Panda is part of Savola’s strategic plan in the retail sector with the goal of increasing the number of Panda supermarkets to 100 and Hyper Pandas to 25 by 2010. The cost of Al-Roshan Mall center reached SR235 million on a 61 thousand square meter land.
Construction Conference in Jeddah in April
JEDDAH, 27 March 2006 — The first Jeddah International Construction Conference will take place from April 16 to 20 under the theme “Civilization and Sustainability in a Changing World”, reported Al-Watan newspaper. Experts from twenty countries will be participating in the conference, which comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is witnessing a construction boom and a strong economic position. The conference includes twelve sessions that cover issues such as investment, population, transportation, environment and architectural design.
